Original Job Summary
Overview
The Ford Racing Electrical Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for designing and developing Ford Performance specific electrical content. This role involves coordination between component and EDS engineers and ensuring system integrity during design.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate technical design reviews between component and EDS engineers.
- Survey and ensure electrical interfaces are populated into VSEM for EDS wiring development.
- Build DV Requirements for system level electrical functions and perform validation testing.
- Support BOM sign offs, evaluation drives, and offsite vehicle level DV testing.
- Represent the electrical team in breadboard activities and onsite vehicle builds.
- Lead FSS and internal/external resources to deliver subject programs.
- Develop system designs to support vehicle performance targets while meeting Ford & regulatory requirements.
- Support supplier sourcing processes and FMA activities.
- Handle deliverables supporting program & engineering GPDS breakthroughs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master preferred).
- 3+ years experience in automotive electrical systems.
- Familiarity with GPDS deliverables and Ford engineering tools (FEDE BOM, WERS, AIMS, JIRA, DFMEA, Six Sigma).
- Experience launching new vehicles and managing complex tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong planning, project management, and communication skills.
- Proven One Ford Leadership Behaviors and the ability to build strong multi-functional relationships.
- Desirable passion for performance vehicles and experience with CAN tools, module software flashing, and troubleshooting CAN networks.
