The Opportunity
Our Digital Product Design organization is re-founding Ford's digital experience through vehicle exterior/interior, software, and service design. As a leader on the team, you will influence product design on a global scale and help shape the future of mobility and connected experiences.
The Position
As a Sr. Design Director, you will lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers. You will partner strategically with product management, engineering, and research to define the design vision for Ford vehicles and services. You will champion user-centered design, elevate design craft, foster an innovative culture, and contribute to high level product strategy.
- Lead and Mentor: Directly manage and coach a diverse product design team.
- Set Strategy: Define long-term design vision and align with business objectives.
- Elevate Quality: Oversee design process ensuring usability and consistency.
- Champion User Focus: Drive user research and testing to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Build partnerships with product, engineering, and other critical teams.
Qualifications & Preferred Requirements
Minimum 15+ years of product design experience with leadership expertise. Proven track record in defining and executing design strategy, mentoring teams, and delivering impactful design solutions is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment are required.
