About the Role

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for Ford Pro Tech. In this role, you will drive technical direction and talent development while advancing our platform and industry technology landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer state-of-the-art software using a TDD approach.
  • Define tech stack standards and reference architecture.
  • Improve Developer Experience, API Elegance, and Golden Signals.
  • Facilitate new technology adoption and innovative solutions.
  • Mentor team members and lead agile development teams.
  • Utilize cloud services, especially GCP, for strategic improvements.
  • Recommend team tools and policies for enhanced collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years with large-scale distributed systems.
  • 5+ years leading agile teams with XP, Kanban, or Scrum.
  • 3+ years in cloud deployment (GCP, AWS, Azure) and TDD.
  • Strong full-stack architecture experience.
  • Proven ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Preferred Experience

  • Leading large multi-team solutions and extreme programming teams.
  • Experience managing individual contributor engineers.
  • Open-source contributions and defining SLOs/SLAs.
  • Hands-on with Github Actions, Terraform, Docker, and cloud orchestration.

Location Details

This job is posted as remote unless the candidate lives within 50 miles of Dearborn, MI, in which case on-site work is required 4 days a week.
