Senior Data Engineer

Overview

The Senior Data Engineer at Ford Motor Company will architect and scale end-to-end data pipelines on GCP, transforming complex telemetry and enterprise data into analytics-ready assets using Medallion architectures. This role involves implementing robust CI/CD workflows, rigorous data governance, and security controls while mentoring junior talent and driving engineering best practices.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data.
• Migrate and modernize data assets to centralized platforms like BigQuery.
• Architect scalable data models and warehouses optimizing performance and cost.
• Develop orchestration pipelines using Airflow with CI/CD workflows (Terraform, Git).
• Establish data quality checks, lineage, and observability using modern tools.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance controls.
• Lead analytics-ready asset delivery and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver self-service analytics.
• Monitor cloud resource capacity and optimize GCP usage.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
