Overview

At Ford Motor Company, the In-Vehicle Network Architect plays a critical role in designing and implementing next-generation vehicle network communication systems. Join an agile team within the Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) sector that is driving the future of mobility and customer experience for electric vehicle buyers and owners.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement in-vehicle communication systems including network architecture, topology, and protocols.
  • Deliver foundational network libraries such as core interfaces and functional topology elements.
  • Design and maintain automated pipelines for creation, testing, and release of network artifacts.
  • Establish and conduct validation procedures for network architecture deliverables.
  • Optimize performance through network analysis and implement improvements in data packing and communication protocols.
  • Architect and implement cybersecurity and functional safety measures specific to network systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize communication attributes (Ethernet/CAN/LIN) across the vehicle architecture.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field along with at least 2+ years of experience in software engineering focusing on embedded systems and network architecture. Experience with Ethernet distributed systems, network analysis, and simulation tools is required. Advanced experience or a Master’s degree and familiarity with AUTOSAR and Test-Driven Development are a plus.
