Summary
The Sales Representative represents Florida Paints at stores and to existing and prospective customers such as contractors, builders, and condo associations. The role develops business with both current and new customer bases.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Learn Florida Paints’ product offerings quickly and accurately.
- Specify products to distributors, contractors, architects, and end users.
- Compile potential customer lists from various sources.
- Travel throughout territory to solicit orders in-person or by phone.
- Display and demonstrate products using samples or catalogs.
- Work with management on quotes and credit terms.
- Estimate delivery dates based on production schedules.
- Prepare business transaction reports and maintain expense accounts.
- Collaborate with inside sales to update account activities and literature.
- Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems.
- Assist store managers with additional duties as needed.
Requirements
Competencies: Must work scheduled hours and overtime (including evenings/weekends), industry knowledge, proven sales and relationship-building results, proficient in PC applications, strong presentation and interpersonal skills, organization, and confidentiality.
Education & Qualifications: High School Diploma required, college degree preferred, 2-3 years’ outside sales experience, paint and coatings experience is a plus, valid driver’s license with a great driving record, and ability to pass background and drug tests.
Physical Requirements: Must travel long periods by vehicle, occasionally lift/move 50-75 pounds, and possess specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision.
