Position Summary
Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is seeking applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Cryptology, starting August 2026. Strong candidates are encouraged in all areas of cryptology with a preference for expertise in symmetric and public-key cryptography, post-quantum cryptography, quantum algorithms in cryptography, or related areas.
The role involves research, teaching, and professional service. The successful candidate is expected to secure external research funding and engage in interdisciplinary programs.
Department Overview
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics is research-active and known for excellence in teaching, research, and service. It houses 26 tenure-track/tenured faculty, 18 non-tenure track faculty, and over 40 graduate teaching/research assistants. The department is internationally recognized through its Center for Cryptology and Information Security (CCIS) and is designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cyber Defense Research (CAE-R) since 2019.
