About Flight Sim Coach
Flight Sim Coach connects home flight simulator users with real Certified Flight Instructors for remote 1:1 coaching via Zoom. We've been featured by AOPA, FLYING Magazine, and IFR Magazine. We're looking for instructors with deep Cirrus experience to serve our SR-20/SR-22 clientele.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote coaching to Cirrus pilots and simulator enthusiasts while they share their screens with you (via Zoom or Discord).
- Help real-world Cirrus pilots use their home flight simulators efficiently and effectively, ensuring they avoid unsafe and incorrect habits as they practice.
- Help flight simulator hobbyists learn realistic Cirrus procedures.
- Provide technical assistance and consultation to clients (to help them purchase, set up, and troubleshoot their simulators).
- Maintain accurate records of coaching given.
Minimum Requirements
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII).
- A minimum of 500 hours of dual given in Cirrus SR-20/SR-22 aircraft.
- You must currently own Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024 and/or X-Plane 12 and have a computer with hardware accessories capable of running them smoothly.
- Technical proficiency with desktop flight simulators - experience setting up, optimizing, and troubleshooting flight sim software and hardware.
- Experience with glass cockpit avionics such as the Cirrus Perspective/Perspective+ (Garmin G1000/G1000 NXi).
- Internet upload/download speed of at least 10 Mbps.
- Efficient and effective teaching skills, with the ability to adapt to clients flying in a variety of airspace types.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Professional demeanor and comfortable interacting with clients via webcam.
- Based in the United States with US work authorization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Current CSIP (Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot).
- SF50 Vision Jet experience.
- Experience with both MSFS and X-Plane.
- Home sim hardware setup experience (yokes, throttles, rudder pedals, head tracking).
