Overview

The Travel Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery is responsible for providing age specific care for patients using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of current/recent Labor & Delivery experience and specialized certifications.

Certifications & Qualifications

Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and NCC-EFM. Applicants must have a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut. Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s preferred) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assess physiologic and psychosocial health status of patients.
  • Develop individualized care plans and outcome measures.
  • Implement and evaluate patient care, including medication administration and decubitus care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and care team members for coordinated treatment.
  • Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge planning.

Additional Duties

Perform related duties including assisting during diagnostic procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
