About the Role

Join us in bringing joy to customer experience at Five9, a leading provider of cloud contact center software. As an Associate Data Scientist/AI Trainer, you will work on Conversational AI implementations ensuring high accuracy in intelligent virtual agents and related AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Label language data following established guidelines.
  • Review and improve labeling procedures for consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Conversation Designers.
  • Schedule and execute tasks as per project timelines.
  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Evaluate and recommend ML models for various AI tasks.
  • Create and curate multilingual text and speech datasets.
  • Develop data visualization tools and dashboards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Familiarity with NLP labeling and analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Linguistics or similar.
  • Understanding Conversational AI technologies.
  • Strong project management, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a related field.
  • Programming and data analysis experience using Python, R, Jupyter, and SQL.
  • Customer-facing experience in requirement gathering and presentations.
  • Knowledge of version control and unit testing.
  • Experience with bot frameworks like IBM Watson, Amazon Lex, Rasa, or Google Dialogflow.
  • Hands on experience with ML libraries (SciKit Learn, TensorFlow) and LLMs.

Work Location & Compensation

This role is fully remote for candidates outside a 50 mile radius of our San Ramon office. For candidates within 50 miles, the role is hybrid (3 days in-office: M, W, TH). The US base salary range is $59,600—$134,400 USD, with additional benefits including bonuses, stock options, health coverage, and more.
