Azure Cloud Engineer

The Azure Cloud Engineer is a skilled and proactive individual responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure. This leadership role is critical to ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure that aligns with business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scalable Cloud Architecture & Deployment: Design and implement Azure-native infrastructure solutions; work with Azure Data Services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage; manage ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data pipelines; migrate legacy workloads to Azure; and optimize for performance, scalability, and cost.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement Azure security best practices (RBAC, Key Vault, Defender), ensure compliance with standards such as CCPA and GDPR, and monitor vulnerabilities via Azure Security Center.
  • Automation & DevOps: Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps; automate infrastructure provisioning with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform; and integrate monitoring using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Operations & Support: Manage cost-control strategies using Azure Advisor, Reserved Instances, and budget alerts; tune cloud performance; and troubleshoot performance issues and outages.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders; advise on cloud strategy, governance, and cost optimization; and conduct capacity planning to support business growth.

Qualifications Guidelines

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Relevant Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500) preferred.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, SQL, Python and scripting languages.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
