About the Role: Head of Supply Chain & Logistics

Fitt Talent Partners is assisting an innovative gut health supplement company in finding a Head of Supply Chain & Logistics. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire supply chain, from manufacturing to delivery, ensuring scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency while maintaining product quality and supporting rapid growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing & Supplier Ownership: Manage relationships with domestic and international CMOs, oversee production planning, batch scheduling, and purchase order execution. Ensure partners meet quality and compliance standards and lead new manufacturer onboarding.
  • Supplier Redundancy & Risk Mitigation: Implement strategies for dual-sourcing critical inputs, maintaining pre-qualified secondary suppliers, and diversifying manufacturing geographically. Proactively identify long-lead and single-point-of-failure components and establish safety stock strategies.
  • COGS Management & Cost-Down Work: Develop ingredient and packaging sourcing strategies, lead volume-based negotiations, optimize batch sizes and MOQs, and streamline freight, duties, and logistics costs. Drive packaging and process efficiencies without compromising quality or brand perception.
  • Inventory Planning, Service Levels & Cash Efficiency: Forecast demand, set SKU-specific inventory targets, and define service levels based on product importance. Continuously adjust inventory strategies for predictability.
  • Warehousing, Shipping Optimization & Customer Delivery Performance: Optimize warehouse strategy, manage 3PL contracts, design efficient pick/pack workflows, and refine carrier mix and service levels. Balance shipping speeds with margin protection and improve order-to-delivery times.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product/NPD on feasibility and cost, provide early input on new product development, and support marketing/commercial teams with launch planning. Act as a pragmatic voice in trade-off discussions.

Requirements

  • 7–12+ years of experience in supplements or functional CPG.
  • Proven track record of owning supply chain at a scaling brand.
  • Strong operational skills combined with commercial judgment.
  • Ability to build structure and processes without hindering growth.
  • Deep expertise in CMOs, ingredient suppliers, MOQs, lead-time management, cost-down initiatives, inventory, warehousing, and fulfillment economics.
