What You’ll Do as a Bridge Design Engineer

• Support bridge design engineering, including load rating, structural analysis, and foundation design.
• Develop design plans, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Maintain detailed records of design documents, reports, and budgets.
• Assist project managers with schedules, documentation, and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with state and local standards, regulations and safety codes.
• Utilize QA/QC processes to deliver quality results.
• Conduct field inspections and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve RFIs.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, subconsultants and agencies for project delivery.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5-10 years of transportation or structures/bridge design engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, STAAD and Bridge Design Software.
• Familiarity with state DOT design standards (NYSDOT or PennDOT preferred).
• High-quality work, strong problem solving, and sound judgment.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• High adaptability and proactive meeting deadlines.
• Eagerness for continuous improvement and constructive feedback.
