About the Role

Fisher Associates is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to join our Bridge and Transportation Engineering team. Whether you're licensed or on the path to PE certification, you will receive mentorship and work on meaningful bridge and transportation projects that enhance safety, sustainability, and community connectivity.

Responsibilities

  • Support bridge design engineering including load rating, structural analysis, and foundation design.
  • Develop design plans, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Maintain detailed records and support project managers with schedules and presentations.
  • Ensure adherence to state and local standards, regulations, and safety codes.
  • Conduct field inspections, prepare detailed reports, and provide technical construction support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and agencies for seamless project delivery.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field, Master’s preferred.
  • 5-10 years of transportation experience with a focus on structures/bridge design.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, STAAD, and Bridge Design Software.
  • Familiarity with state DOT design standards (NYSDOT or PennDOT preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and team collaboration.
