Position Summary

The Assistant Branch Manager works closely with the Branch Manager to plan, schedule, supervise, and evaluate branch workflow and staffing. The role is responsible for coordinating branch activities to meet or exceed sales and service goals while expanding member relationships and ensuring smooth branch operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set performance goals and deadlines aligned with organizational vision.
  • Organize and monitor workflow; ensure employees understand their duties.
  • Supervise branch employees and assist with cross-selling conversations and problem resolution.
  • Create and maintain a cross-selling environment to meet sales goals.
  • Train staff on credit union products and services.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and handle member inquiries or complaints.
  • Open accounts, conduct loan interviews, process applications and fund loans.
  • Review and approve various loan types and process phone wires.
  • Monitor branch operations including cash and coin inventory.
  • Enforce professionalism in staff communications and resolve complex member issues.
  • Ensure strict adherence to BSA-AML compliance protocols including filing CTRs, SARs, and OFAC checks.
  • Provide regular coaching and maintain confidentiality in all member and employee matters.
  • Assist with audits and prepare required reports.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of financial institution experience.
  • Strong member service, sales, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use office equipment.
  • Typing speed of 20 wpm and transaction accuracy.
  • Dependability, leadership, and goal orientation.
  • Public Notary certification if needed.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Office environment with use of computers and other equipment.
  • Ability to move around frequently within the office.
  • Occasional long hours and travel between branches or meetings.
