Original Job Summary

Overview

The HR Business Relations Partner at First United Bank serves as a strategic HR partner to Lending and Retail Community Bank leadership in the DFW and Central Texas regions. The role supports all HR functions including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance Evaluations, Compensation Management, and Benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, counsel, and support on employee relations matters including hiring, on-boarding, performance management, and terminations.
  • Develop relationships with HR Functional Managers to serve as a resource for all HR related duties.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring HR policies, procedures, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct internal investigations and manage responses to unemployment claims and other HR issues.
  • Partner with managers in recruitment processes including interviewing, pre-employment screening, and offer letter preparation.
  • Communicate HR, payroll, and benefits information and deliver necessary training.
  • Evaluate HR data and metrics to recommend improvements and sustain long term people strategy.

Additional Duties

  • Adhere to company policies and complete all compliance exams yearly.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support HR and organizational needs.

Employee Specifications

A bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of HR experience are required. Professional HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP) are preferred along with banking experience.

Technical and Functional Competencies

  • Knowledge of employment laws including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.

Travel Requirements

The position requires travel to the Central Texas region (Austin and surrounding areas) for a minimum of one week per quarter.
