The Opportunity
The IT Asset Manager (iTAM) will lead and optimize all technology-related hardware and software asset management program activities. This role is responsible for enhancing the Life Cycle Asset Management policy, processes, framework, tools, compliance, governance, and metrics. You will collaborate with all IT stakeholders to ensure Asset Management program processes and procedures are effectively maintained and communicated.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a detailed inventory of all hardware and software assets.
- Ensure due processes are followed for provisioning and de-provisioning of assets.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance existing policies, standards, processes, and procedures.
- Implement short-term and long-term strategies for the IT asset catalog, accounting for risk, governance, and compliance.
- Maintain quality control throughout the lifecycle of all IT assets by developing processes and procedures for tracking, managing, and providing recommendations for cost savings.
- Ensure provisioned assets are tagged into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and that information is up-to-date, accurate, and auditable.
- Develop strategies and provide recommendations to optimize technology spend.
- Develop KPIs and metrics and establish a reporting cadence.
- Participate with SDLC, Change Management, and other existing processes impacting assets.
- Participate in vendor agreement management to monitor and track hardware/software asset licenses and warranties.
- Participate in ITSM processes and projects for effective asset configuration management.
- Collaborate with IT stakeholders to monitor IT asset usage, record findings, changes, physical locations, and incidences of support.
- Coordinate asset disposal activities to ensure compliance with Asset Disposal/Destruction Standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or Technical Certifications.
- At least 5 years of ITSM experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in IT asset management or IT asset administration.
- Experience managing and working with a CMDB.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and running a Software Asset Management process.
- Experience working with Enterprise Licensing Agreements.
- Experience with IT Asset procurement.
- Certification or strong understanding of ITIL, ITSM, and iTAM.
- Strong communication, planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Nice to have: Understanding of ISO 127001.
- Nice to have: Experience using Service Desk+.
