Overview
This is a hybrid role at First Citizens Bank with an expectation to be in office at least Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The Legal Operations Coordinator will support the Legal Operations function within the bank’s legal department, reporting to the Head of Legal Operations and working collaboratively with a growing team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct due diligence and ongoing risk assessments of third-party vendors
- Support onboarding/offboarding of vendors ensuring billing and risk controls
- Oversee invoice review workflows and validate contractual terms
- Maintain data integrity with quality checks and system evaluations
- Train internal users and vendors on the e-billing system
- Monitor compliance with risk control requirements and internal policies
- Collaborate to optimize vendor governance and risk management frameworks
- Monitor legal spend and drive process improvements
- Prepare and review documentation using Microsoft and other software products
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A candidate must have either a Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of related experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of related experience in Law, Risk Management, Legal Assistance, Finance, e-billing or Legal Operations.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and systems (e.g. Archer)
- Proficiency with financial tools such as Excel and CounselLink
- Professional oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills for interpreting billing data and identifying risk issues
- Detail oriented, tech savvy, and organized
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Strong reporting skills and familiarity with analytics tools
- Experience with PowerPoint and ideally PowerBi
- Problem-solving capabilities and appropriate escalation procedures
