Senior Engineer - Application Performance Monitoring

Overall Objectives

Ensure end-to-end visibility of application health, performance, and user experience across critical business services. Implement and manage modern APM tools that provide real-time insights and deep diagnostics.

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and manage enterprise-grade APM tools.
• Build dashboards, alert policies, and SLA-based thresholds.
• Enable distributed tracing and service maps for diagnostics.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams.
• Integrate APM tools with CI/CD pipelines and incident workflows.
• Lead performance monitoring during major releases and peak loads.
• Conduct regular APM health checks for consistent telemetry coverage.

General Functional Responsibilities

• Maintain monitoring standards, documentation, and runbooks.
• Define and track SLOs and SLAs effectively.
• Participate in post-incident reviews for improved response.
• Automate alert routing and event correlation using observability data.
• Stay updated on trends in APM including OpenTelemetry and AI diagnostics.
• Support out-of-hours performance troubleshooting for critical incidents.
