Job Description
Software Test Engineer at Fintraffic
Fintraffic employs over 1100 top professionals across four different traffic modes: air navigation, maritime, road, and rail traffic control. Fintraffic's rail traffic control is responsible for managing and controlling railway traffic. The rail traffic control unit employs approximately 490 professionals, including traffic controllers, traffic informers, shift managers, project managers, and special experts in rail traffic. As the railway sector undergoes modernization and digitalization, Fintraffic is investing more in product development and seeking experts in software development, product management, and design, such as architects, application developers, software testers, product managers, and designers.
As part of the Digirata project, a software production unit was established last year for Fintraffic Rail, through which the company aims to modernize traffic control and management systems to comply with the European ETCS standard. The goal is to update software development practices to support modern and agile product-oriented software development, enabling the creation of the best tools for efficient and safe traffic control.
What does the Software Test Engineer role entail?
This year, Fintraffic is expanding its expertise and organization by establishing new teams to implement parts of the new traffic control and management system. As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the team produces high-quality components as part of the new traffic control and management system. Initial tasks will involve the development of graphical scheduling or permit granting, which are crucial tools for traffic controllers to ensure safe train routes. The newly formed team will consist of a product manager, a product designer, and developers (tech lead, engineer, and test engineer).
