Position Overview

Job Responsibilities
Provide on-site technical expertise to minimize downtime and ensure equipment operates to Caterpillar OEM standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Support customers in the field to reduce downtime and maintain mine production.
- Schedule and conduct customer visits and technical audits.
- Liaise with internal departments to secure timely parts delivery.
- Perform technical audits and deliver analysis reports with service recommendations.
- Rapidly escalate machine-down situations and recommend safety solutions.
- Build and maintain a technical issue library for continuous improvement.
Day-to-Day Activities
- On-site inspections and technical audits of Caterpillar electric rope shovels.
- Preparation and delivery of technical analysis reports.
- Coordination of parts and service requirements with Finning teams.
- Rapid response to urgent machine-down situations.
- Providing safety recommendations and compliance support.
- Documentation and tracking of technical issues.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a Journeyperson Red Seal Electrician with mechanical aptitude and at least 5 years of customer service experience in a mining environment. Experience with mining equipment, particularly Caterpillar electric rope shovels, is required. A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driver’s abstract are essential.
Work Locations & Schedule
This position is available at multiple Finning locations including Elkford, Cranbrook, Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George, Calgary, and Edmonton. Work is permanent, full-time with a 7x7 day shift rotation supporting sites in Alberta and British Columbia.
