Senior System Analyst

Summary

As a Senior System Analyst at FINEOS, you will be instrumental in eliciting requirements for product development and designing robust solutions that enhance and expand our product offerings. This role demands a commercial and customer-centric focus, driving continuous improvement in product and market knowledge to meet evolving customer and business needs. You will provide critical support to FINEOS teams on all product-related matters, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, on-budget, and fit-for-purpose FINEOS solution designs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze customer and market requirements and business value, identifying alignment with existing FINEOS core product functionality or pinpointing product gaps.
• Engage with business sponsors early to define high-level requirements for product enhancements through research, analysis, and exploratory activities.
• Produce high-quality, on-budget, and fit-for-purpose FINEOS solution designs, utilizing artifacts such as screen mock-ups, scenarios, use cases, and user stories, complete with associated delivery estimates.
• Collaborate within an Agile (SAFe) scrum team, alongside Product Owners, Lead Engineers, Software Engineers, and Software Testers, to provide essential software design capabilities.
• Work with your Scrum team to identify technical requirements for construction, including data modeling, functional changes, and underlying updates to the FINEOS product.
• Ensure that business, market, and architectural needs are clearly understood by your team, enabling them to deliver business value and achieve delivery goals.
• Proactively identify project risks, communicating, managing, and escalating issues in a timely manner, with a strong emphasis on risk minimization and resolution.
• Support and mentor other analysts, overseeing feature development and influencing product and solution direction.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to FINEOS teams on issues requiring deep expertise in the FINEOS Product suite.

Education and/or Experience

• Minimum 6 years of experience in the software industry, with at least 4 years in an analysis and/or client-facing role.
• Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into deliverable, budget-focused technical solutions that meet customer and market needs.
• Experience with both greenfield projects and enhancing existing solution designs.
• Proficiency in modeling complex data in a structured and flexible manner using OO Analysis and Design (OOAD) and UML notation.
• Experience in Requirements Management, from upfront gathering and facilitation to clarification and traceability throughout the SDLC.
• A degree in a business or IT-related discipline is desirable.

• Critical ability to manage risks and issues.
• Strong scope management skills are essential.
• Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry is a distinct advantage.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies is beneficial.
• Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance work processes and support informed decision-making is essential, adhering strictly to organizational security, data protection, and ethical use policies.

Technical Skills

• Experience with data modeling, prototyping, and process tracking tools (e.g., Visual Paradigm, Balsamiq, MS Visio, Jira).
• Experience in software development (preferably web applications and Java) is a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with database platforms such as SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle is an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience of Cloud computing, specifically AWS, is an advantage.
• A degree in an IT-related discipline is desirable.

Language Skills

Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written, is required.

Travel Requirements

This position may require adhoc occasional travel.
