Job Overview

The AWS Cloud Ops DevOps Engineer Financial Services will design, secure, and operate a multi-account AWS environment supporting regulated financial workloads. You will automate infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and security controls across an array of AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and WAF/Shield.

Core Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Platform: Manage EC2, ECS, EKS, VPC, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, S3, and CloudFront.
  • Automation & IaC: Build reproducible infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform/OpenTofu, and define CI/CD pipelines.
  • Observability & Reliability: Configure CloudWatch, X-Ray, and establish alerting and runbooks.
  • Security & Compliance: Set up IAM, enforce least privilege, and implement security tools such as WAF, Shield, and GuardDuty.
  • Data & Integration: Support API Gateway, SQS/SNS, and manage data migrations with DMS.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, and VPC.
  • Proficiency in CloudFormation and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, GitHub/GitLab.
  • Solid knowledge of observability tools including CloudWatch and X-Ray.
  • Expertise in AWS security services like IAM, KMS, WAF, and Shield.
  • Scripting in Python/Bash and Linux administration.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with OpenSearch, Kinesis, Redshift, and ElastiCache.
  • Familiarity with AWS DevOps Guru, Step Functions, and Backup.
  • Knowledge of BaFin cloud outsourcing and DORA compliance.
