Role Overview
The User Generated Content Moderator protects FT.com’s reputation. This position focuses on ensuring reader contributions and community interactions adhere to Financial Times standards and community guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Moderation & Quality Control: Review user content to ensure compliance with guidelines, apply editorial judgment, and escalate sensitive cases.
- Platform & Community Support: Monitor moderation systems and assist subscribers with platform use; recommend improvements.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with Community Managers and Social Media Desk Editors across global offices.
- Reporting & Insights: Generate regular moderation reports, highlight trends and emerging risks.
- Team Contribution: Contribute to team culture, support ad hoc editorial tasks, and stay updated on new moderation technologies.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in content moderation, digital publishing, or journalism is preferred. Candidates should understand the news cycle, possess strong editorial judgment, and have excellent written and spoken English. Attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
Working Requirements
Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
