Job Description

Strategic Program Manager Contingent Workforce at Figma

Figma is expanding its team of passionate creatives and builders dedicated to making design accessible to everyone. Our platform helps teams transform ideas into reality, from brainstorming and prototyping to translating designs into code and iterating with AI. Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, accelerate progress, and collaborate in real-time from any location globally. If you are eager to shape the future of design and collaboration, we invite you to join us!

As Figma continues its growth, so does the vibrant community of professionals who contribute to building, supporting, and scaling our products. Our contingent workforce is crucial to this mission, and we are committed to enhancing how we partner with and support this segment of our team. The Strategic Program Manager Contingent Workforce will be responsible for designing and implementing the systems, processes, and strategies that enable both Figmates and contingent partners to excel. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with People, Legal, Finance, Security, and various teams across Figma to cultivate a thoughtful, flexible, and compliant workforce ecosystem. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy tackling complex challenges, establishing clarity amidst ambiguity, and developing scalable, empathetic programs.

This is a full-time position available in one of our US hubs or remotely within the United States.

What you’ll do at Figma:

  • Build and own Figma’s global contingent workforce strategy, establishing frameworks, rituals, and operational methods that support thoughtful and compliant scaling.
  • Partner across the company to streamline and enhance the onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing experience for contingent workers and their managers.
  • Craft and maintain clear, engaging guidelines, policies, and resources for what is traditionally a complex area.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, People Ops, Finance, and Security to reduce friction, manage risk, and ensure a future-ready approach.
  • Develop metrics and dashboards to provide insights into program health, expenditure, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Roll out change-management programs to assist leaders in effectively engaging contingent talent.
  • Evaluate and partner with external vendors, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and technologies to ensure a scalable and positive contingent workforce experience.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on workforce planning, vendor strategy, and organizational design, contributing to Figma’s growth initiatives.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience building or running contingent workforce programs within fast-growing or complex organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of worker classification, global compliance, and contingent workforce best practices.
  • A proven track record of leading large, cross-functional programs with senior stakeholders across People, Legal, Finance, and other departments.
  • Experience developing scalable processes, governance models, and operational systems from inception.
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills, utilizing data to inform decisions, foster discussion, and achieve alignment.

While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

  • Experience building or partnering with MSP models and/or modern Vendor Management System (VMS) tools.
  • Background in organizational design, workforce planning, or consulting.
  • Experience scaling programs across multiple regions and navigating global regulations.
  • A systems mindset and a passion for designing programs that balance structure, empathy, and excellent user experience.
