About Figma
Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
The Role: Manager, Software Engineering - Collaboration Tools
As the Engineering Manager for Collaboration Tools, you own the end-to-end success of Figma’s Collab seat offering, which includes Figma Slides and FigJam. Collectively, these two products transform the way people brainstorm, develop, and present their ideas by leveraging the magic of real-time collaboration and the infinite canvas that Figma is known for. Given the universal applicability of these products to all knowledge workers, Figma Slides and FigJam will play a critical role in Figma’s continued growth to new audiences and expansion within existing customer bases.
You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Data, Marketing, and GTM to chart the course for these product lines in the AI era and leverage them to help Figma unlock the next xM users.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
- Manage and support a group of engineering managers and teams responsible for FigJam and Figma Slides
- Partner with product, design, and data to continue innovating on our Collab Tools product and accelerate the growth of Figma’s Collab seat
- Provide hands-on technical leadership to your teams and others that collaborate with your teams to ensure a cohesive product experience and the right technical abstractions
- Recruit, mentor and retain high performing engineers (and help with other cross functional roles)
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and taking calculated risks
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 4+ years of experience hiring and leading teams as an engineering manager with at least 2 years of experience managing managers
- Ability to operate effectively at the level of product and business strategy while balancing that with operational excellence in running engineering teams
- Proven track record of successfully operating and growing E2E product lines
- Passion for building inclusive teams that deliver customer impact and iterate quickly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in cross-functional settings
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Experience leading product teams in B2B companies with a PLG motion
- Previous experience in integrating AI into existing product lines effectively
Grow with Figma:
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
Compensation and Benefits:
If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has an annual base salary range of $250,000—$350,000 USD. Actual compensation will vary based on qualifications, market demands, and specific work location. Remote roles are localized between 80% and 100% of the range.
Figma offers equity to employees, as well a competitive package of additional benefits, including health, dental & vision, retirement with company contribution, parental leave & reproductive or family planning support, mental health & wellness benefits, generous PTO, company recharge days, a learning & development stipend, a work from home stipend, and cell phone reimbursement. Figma also offers sales incentive pay for most sales roles and an annual bonus plan for eligible non-sales roles. Figma’s compensation and benefits are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
