Job Description

Manager, Product Design at Figma

Figma is actively expanding its team of imaginative and driven individuals who are dedicated to democratizing design. Figma's versatile platform empowers teams to realize their concepts, from initial brainstorming and prototype creation to translating designs into code and iterating with AI. From conception to final product, Figma enables teams to optimize workflows, accelerate development, and collaborate seamlessly in real-time from any location worldwide. If you are passionate about shaping the future of design and collaboration, we invite you to join us!

We are seeking technically-minded design leaders eager to influence how teams build collaboratively. At Figma, design encompasses not only aesthetics but also functionality, user experience, and scalability. Our designers are adept at systems thinking, prototyping, storytelling, and craftsmanship, with a deep commitment to quality and teamwork. In this role, you will lead a world-class team of designers who are pioneering novel approaches for co-creating and developing products.

These positions offer a unique opportunity to grow as a design leader, partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams. You will collaborate with exceptional builders who possess profound technical expertise and high craft, defining vision in ambiguous domains, integrating emerging technologies with genuine user needs, and developing tools that empower teams to create with unparalleled scale, speed, and craftsmanship.

This is a full-time position available in one of our US hub offices or remotely within the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:

  • Manage and hire a group of world-class designers
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leads to enhance team processes, improve execution, and guide individual teams in setting roadmap and strategy
  • Develop and advocate for a clear perspective on your teams’ product areas across the organization
  • Run and refine team processes, including critiques, reviews, and design sprints
  • Remain actively involved in the work, managing people while also contributing hands-on to strategy and execution oversight
  • Thrive in dynamic, experimental environments where tackling novel problems is commonplace
  • Establish and maintain high-quality standards through constructive feedback, clear direction, and effective coaching

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • 3+ years of design management experience, demonstrating a strong track record of building resilient team cultures and fostering designer development across all skill levels
  • A proven history of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to tackle intricate design challenges
  • Clear hands-on expertise with Figma’s tools, coupled with a strong ability to mentor and guide design teams
  • Experience influencing teams through strategic thinking, compelling storytelling, and clear communication
  • Familiarity with advancements in AI, LLMs, code generation, and generative design tools
  • Comfort navigating uncertainty and thriving in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where priorities can rapidly adjust with emerging technology

While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

  • Experience working on early-stage or zero-to-one projects, AI/ML-powered products, or creative tooling, and successfully seeing them through to shipment
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, bringing a sense of humor and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
  • Comfort exploring and experimenting with new methodologies and continuously seeking to improve both personal and team performance

At Figma, one of our core values is 'Grow as you go'. We believe in recruiting intelligent, inquisitive individuals who are eager to learn and enhance their abilities. If this role excites you but your past experience doesn't perfectly match every point in the description, we still encourage you to apply. You might be the ideal candidate for this or other opportunities.
