FieldCore is looking for engaged and driven individuals with a passion for engineering to join our Field Engineering Program and Technical Field team based in Europe.
Let’s Talk About The Role
You will start by being enrolled in FieldCore’s Field Engineering Program (FEP). While in the FEP, you will develop in-depth technical expertise, lean thinking, and leadership skills. This is a unique opportunity to go through our in-person and online training curriculum as well as learning from experienced Technical Field Advisors with on-the-job training.
You will gain hands on experience and grow your career whilst traveling to provide power to communities. Upon successful graduation from the Field Engineering Program, you will be eligible for a Technical Field Advisor position working on Generators.
As a Technical Field Advisor for and Generator Specialist you will provide on-site technical direction to customer-owned utility and industrial power plants for their Turbine Generator Systems.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labour, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements.
How You Will Make a Difference
As the Generator Specialist your primary responsibility is to safely accomplish the maintenance and repair of the heavy-duty generators used in power generation applications whilst:
- Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards
- Manage inspection and testing of the generator field and stator utilizing the latest technology.
- Direct and manage repair or inspection procedures utilizing the latest electronic communication, references, and documentation technologies.
- Recognize, predict, and document potential generator failures.
- Present to the customer accurate generator quality issues as presented and selected by Generator Product Service and regional generator specialists.
- Participate as a Service Team member dedicated to Safety metrics.
- Pre-outage planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures
- Execution of projects, including: generator field and stator rewinds, general generator repairs, and inspections
- Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues
Special Role Requirements
- Able to travel extensively overseas to and from projects and various field assignments.
- Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
- Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments

You should be fluent in English, with strong technical competence and passion for engineering. You will also have:

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
