About FieldCore
FieldCore, part of GE Vernova’s Gas Power business, installs, maintains, and upgrades power generation equipment. Through its Field Engineering Program (FEP), it develops technical expertise, lean thinking, and leadership skills in aspiring Technical Field Advisors.
Job Summary
This entry-level Controls Field Engineer starts as an FEP participant, receiving in-person and online training, on-the-job guidance, and mentorship from experienced Technical Field Advisors. Graduates become eligible for a TFA Controls role, managing controls during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong safety mindset in all operations.
- Travel extensively to various projects and field assignments.
- Work flexible hours including holidays, weekends, and overtime.
- Manage controls activities on site for equipment and PLC systems.
- Interpret P&IDs and provide technical consultation on OEM products.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Ability to read electrical/mechanical diagrams.
- Understanding of PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting basics.
- Basic networking and programming knowledge.
- English proficiency is required.
Desired Characteristics
- Field Services or Power Generation experience is beneficial.
- Positive attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and auxiliary systems.
- Proficiency in Mark VI control systems is preferable.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.

The position offers a competitive salary ($67,100 - $110,700 annually) and benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, retirement savings, wellness reimbursement, and bonus/incentive programs.
