Job Summary
The Aeroderivative Senior Controls Technician West Region is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems for gas turbines. This role involves troubleshooting, performing software upgrades and retrofits, and documenting technical work to ensure customer satisfaction and system reliability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and support on calibration and repair.
- Write accurate reports as the primary contact for technical issues.
- Implement conversions, modifications, and software upgrades on gas turbine controls.
- Troubleshoot, test, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
- Record and report abnormal equipment conditions and initiate corrective actions.
- Interpret electrical/mechanical and instrument diagrams.
- Conduct general maintenance using hand tools and document daily activities.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
- Travel extensively, including international and offshore assignments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 4+ years of experience in power plant or turbine generator maintenance.
- 3+ years with instrumentation, controls, and equipment calibration.
- Appropriate license or certification as required by law.
- Ability to implement controls software upgrades.
- Fluency in English.
Desired Characteristics
- Two-year degree in a scientific field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge in Gas Turbine Control Systems like Woodward, Micronet, GE Mark V, and others.
- Experience with HMI software such as Wonderware, Cimplicity, and iFix.
- Understanding of PLC ladder logic and vibration monitoring systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and independent work skills.
Compensation And Benefits
The hourly wage range for this position is $36.20 to $59.75, with eligibility for overtime and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, retirement, wellness reimbursements, and bonus programs.
