About The Role: Staff Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team within the construction industry. This permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to contribute to our company's financial health and operational success. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing account entries, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and procedures. This role requires proficiency in financial reporting, familiarity with Deltek software, and experience with year-end audit processes. As a vital member of our finance team, you will collaborate closely with management and other departments to provide accurate financial insights and support strategic decision-making. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least five years of relevant experience, preferably within the construction sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Deltek, is essential.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, audit procedures, and internal controls.
• Excellent mathematical skills, attention to detail, and organizational capabilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Solid grasp of data privacy standards and business principles.
• Integrity, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to multitask efficiently.
• Demonstrated experience with financial analysis, research, and planning (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Document financial transactions accurately by entering account data into relevant systems.
• Summarize the current financial status by collecting data and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
• Audit financial documents to substantiate transactions and ensure accuracy.
• Maintain robust accounting controls by developing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Coordinate activities and provide guidance to accounting clerical staff, answering questions and supporting their tasks.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by analyzing account information and resolving inconsistencies.
• Secure financial data through regular database backups and safeguard sensitive information.
• Prepare special financial reports by analyzing trends, summarizing account data, and providing insights to management.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information to uphold customer trust and operational integrity.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks and supporting organizational goals.
