About The Role

Raytheon is seeking a skilled RF Engineer to join our Airborne Antenna Design Department in McKinney, Texas. This onsite role offers an exciting opportunity to work on the design, development, and enhancement of radio frequency (RF) products integral to national defense systems. The successful candidate will be involved in the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept and design through testing and production. They will collaborate with a team of talented engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet stringent performance and reliability standards. This position requires an individual with a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in RF and antenna systems, who is eager to contribute to projects that have a meaningful impact on national security. The role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of working in a fast-paced environment while adhering to security protocols and technical specifications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in RF design, antenna systems, or related areas. Strong proficiency in RF simulation tools, such as HFSS, CST, or similar software, is required. Knowledge of digital aperture design, radome materials, and sub-systems engineering is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level is required from day one. Prior experience working on defense projects or with government agencies will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, analyzing, and testing RF components and systems, including antennas, radomes, and digital apertures.
  • Developing detailed technical specifications, creating simulation models, and performing performance assessments to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate RF solutions into larger systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and refining designs based on test data.
  • Preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal review and customer delivery.
  • Maintaining adherence to security protocols and supporting integration and verification activities.
  • Staying current with technological advancements in RF and antenna engineering to ensure that Raytheon remains at the cutting edge of defense technology innovation.
