About The Product Developer Role

The Product Developer role at Xcel Energy is pivotal in driving the development and launch of innovative energy efficiency, renewable energy, and demand response programs. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders to create new programs that align with the company's strategic goals. The role requires strategic planning, program management, and relationship building to ensure the successful deployment of energy products that enhance customer value and support sustainability initiatives. The Product Developer focuses on developing and supporting large or complex products, ensuring alignment with platform strategies and managing risks and budgets effectively. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in product development, program management, engineering, or regulatory administration. Experience in investor-owned utility customer energy programs is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of utility regulations are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and launch new energy products, supporting large or complex initiatives.
  • Ensure activities align with strategic platform goals.
  • Monitor and document project results, manage risks, budgets, and schedules.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of products to ongoing management.
  • Prepare comprehensive business plans, including financial, market, and competitive analyses.
  • Participate in identifying new customer programs.
  • Foster relationships with partner organizations to promote collaboration and integration of efforts.
