About The Role
The Director, Data Engineering – Architect at Rise is a pivotal leadership position responsible for defining and governing the enterprise data architecture strategy that underpins our data ecosystem. This role involves providing architectural leadership across all facets of data management, including ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, security, and activation platforms. The ideal candidate will ensure that our data architecture is scalable, reliable, and sustainable, supporting the organization’s long-term data initiatives. As the senior technical authority, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, establish data standards, and drive innovation within our data infrastructure. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing data architectures, including data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with cloud-native data solutions.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and related tools.
- Deep understanding of data governance, security protocols, and compliance standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to innovate and lead complex projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Define and oversee the enterprise data architecture strategy aligned with business goals and technical standards.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytical and operational needs.
- Establish data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance across all platforms.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and tools to enhance data capabilities and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of data systems, implementing best practices in monitoring and maintenance.
- Work closely with security teams to implement data security measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Document architecture designs, standards, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency across teams.
