About The Role

The Computer Program Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the academic and operational functions of the college’s Business and Computer Technology programs. This position is responsible for coordinating daily program activities, supporting curriculum development, managing laboratory environments, and fostering industry engagement to ensure the programs remain relevant and aligned with workforce needs. Under the guidance of the Dean, the coordinator will facilitate course scheduling, advise students, oversee lab operations, and collaborate with faculty, industry partners, and community stakeholders. This role requires a proactive individual capable of balancing administrative duties with strategic initiatives to enhance program quality and student success. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, technology, and workforce development, contributing to the college’s mission of preparing students for meaningful careers in business and information technology fields.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with an associate's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • At least two years of administrative, event coordination, or program management experience, preferably within an academic or technical environment.
  • Proficiency with technology tools, software systems, and IT environments, including computer labs and instructional technology.
  • Experience in advising students, supporting instructional activities, or coordinating academic programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, procurement processes, and equipment inventory.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills essential for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record acceptable to the college’s insurance provider for authorized driving duties.

Candidates who do not meet all minimum qualifications may be considered if they possess an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides comparable knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Program Operations and Academic Support: Oversee daily operations of Business and Computer Technology programs, assist faculty and the dean with course scheduling aligned with student demand and workforce needs, support curriculum planning and documentation, and maintain program materials and advising resources. Facilitate recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of adjunct instructors, providing mentorship to promote instructional excellence.
  • Information Systems Lab Oversight: Manage the Information Systems Lab, including scheduling, equipment access, safety protocols, software installation, and hardware maintenance. Supervise lab assistants and student workers, ensuring proper onboarding, training, and task management. Collaborate with faculty to keep lab technology current with industry standards and track technology purchases, upgrades, and inventory.
  • Student Advising: Provide academic advising tailored to Business and Computer Technology students, assisting with course selection, degree planning, internship opportunities, and career pathways. Maintain accurate advising documentation and refer complex cases to appropriate college offices.
  • Transfer, Articulation, and Pathway Relations: Support the maintenance of transfer and articulation agreements, ensuring accessibility of updated documents and resources outlining transfer pathways and university partnerships.
  • Industry Engagement and Workforce Alignment: Collaborate with industry partners to gather input on curriculum relevance, coordinate employer visits, guest speakers, and applied learning experiences. Promote internship and job placement opportunities in partnership with faculty and industry contacts.
  • Perkins and Reporting Support: Assist in coordinating industry advisory councils, tracking equipment and technology needs, and supporting compliance with Career and Technical Education reporting requirements.
  • Recruitment, Outreach, and Community Engagement: Represent the programs at recruitment events, employer visits, and community activities. Work with marketing to develop promotional materials and visibility strategies.
  • Collaboration and Institutional Participation: Partner with IT, Facilities, Procurement, and Marketing departments for lab needs and program logistics. Participate in program review, assessment, and budget management. Engage in college committees and initiatives as assigned, supporting faculty and institutional goals.
