About the Role
The Accounts Payable Intern will join the Shared Finance Services team at Cedar Point, engaging in daily activities across multiple accounting functions. This role provides comprehensive exposure to financial operations, touching on areas such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Accounting, and more, while offering hands-on experience with real-world projects and educational workshops led by senior leaders.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in accounting, finance, business management or related fields.
- Eager to learn and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Prior exposure to accounting or finance principles is a plus.
- Must pass a mandatory drug test and background check.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
The Intern will engage in a variety of financial disciplines including:
- Accounts Payable: Assist with processing weekly disbursements and vendor statement reviews.
- Accounts Receivable: Learn to retrieve and apply payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
- Business Transformation: Collaborate on projects with the Accounting Information Systems team.
- Financial Accounting: Support journal voucher preparations and general ledger reconciliations.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and trend analysis.
- Capital and Project Accounting: Assist in tracking capital projects and monitoring budgets.
- Payroll: Observe processing for multi-state and international employees and assist with compliance reports.
- Revenue Accounting: Validate daily revenue processes and reconcile accounts.
- Treasury: Support fraud reduction efforts and daily credit card reconciliations.
