Job Purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing daily operations in warehouse and inventory, supervising staff, coordinating volunteer programs, and ensuring safe and efficient warehouse operations. This role collaborates closely with the operational team to implement strategies and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote a “Safety First” culture, ensuring safe equipment use and addressing unsafe behaviors.
- Ensure benchmarks for warehouse safety, fulfillment, receiving, inventory management, and logistics are met.
- Process partner orders accurately and manage adjustments including date changes or item modifications.
- Oversee government contract operations (TEFAP, CSFP) and internal programs, collaborating with the Logistics Manager.
- Maintain warehouse facilities, equipment, and adherence to local, state, and national standards.
- Manage operations staff, including performance reviews, scheduling, and regular one-on-one feedback sessions.
- Coordinate volunteer programs and support warehouse operations such as order picking, receiving, and cleaning when required.
- Oversee maintenance and improvement of warehouse facilities in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
- Maintain inventory control system accuracy through regular counts and audits.
- Ensure smooth coordination of incoming and outgoing product deliveries.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be committed to ending food insecurity, have a bachelor's degree (preferred in production, warehouse, or distribution management), two to three years of management experience, and be proficient in MS Office with strong communication and safety compliance skills. A forklift/power equipment certification and valid driver’s license are required.
