About the Product Manager DevSecOps Role

The Federal Reserve Board is seeking a skilled Product Manager DevSecOps to lead the development of a new enterprise DevSecOps platform. This pivotal role involves partnering closely with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to seamlessly integrate security throughout the software delivery lifecycle. You will define the product vision and roadmap, translate developer and security needs into clear requirements, and prioritize features that enhance speed, reliability, and security at scale. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of DevOps practices and can effectively collaborate on secure-by-design patterns, compliance, and risk management.

Summary

The Product Manager DevSecOps aligns and organizes Product Owners and cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle to deliver valuable and engaging solutions to customers. This role requires advanced knowledge of client strategies, functions, issues, and relationships to meet business needs effectively. Collaboration with product team members is crucial for translating roadmaps into requirements, ensuring successful delivery. The manager also handles business and technology roadmaps, identifies improvement opportunities based on industry best practices, and develops technical or process enhancements to increase operational efficiencies or reduce costs. Regular liaison with customers, staff, and stakeholders is essential for managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction, while also staying abreast of evolving information technologies relevant to the Board's needs.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serves as product manager for large, complex efforts across one or multiple agile teams, adhering to industry standards like Agile, DevOps, and ITIL.
  • Communicates portfolio and product updates to managers and stakeholders, building buy-in and ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Articulates the core value proposition of solutions, identifying feature benefits to support fulfillment.
  • Manages and acts as the primary contact for budget activities aligned with the product.
  • Engages in Agile resource planning, monitoring utilization, forecasting needs, and supporting business growth.
  • Acts as an intake point for product improvements and requirements from internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Collaborates with clients to define requirements and use cases, leveraging advanced knowledge of their operations.
  • Coordinates with product team members to translate roadmaps into requirements for successful delivery.
  • Independently identifies user research and leverages secondary research to understand customer needs.
  • Produces business and technology roadmaps and implementation plans for responsible products.
  • Leads oversight of multiple projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables.
  • Defines, implements, and tracks measurable individual and team objectives aligned with business goals, using a data-driven approach.
  • Crafts product strategy that communicates and evangelizes product value across the organization.
  • Identifies key improvement opportunities based on industry trends, developing technical or process enhancements.
  • Develops strategies to improve data performance through technology selection, data structure advice, and architectural choices.
  • Collaborates with business relations and delivery team leads to ensure strategic alignment and understanding of tradeoffs.
  • Contributes to Division strategic direction by identifying gaps and assessing options.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key business and technology stakeholders to drive alignment.
  • Liaises with customers, staff, and stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
  • Explains processes and concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Represents the unit/branch/division in stakeholder meetings and task forces, leading communication strategies.
  • Ensures customer-driven design, considering user pain points and market knowledge.
  • Keeps abreast of cutting-edge information and business trends, assessing and implementing new technology and business adoption proactively.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, or similar role supporting platform infrastructure or developer-facing products.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, automation, and Infrastructure As Code (IAC).
  • Proven experience working closely with engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver scalable platform capabilities.
  • Experience partnering with security teams on application security, vulnerability management, identity and access management, compliance, or secure software development practices.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and security concepts into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • Demonstrated success operating in ambiguous, early-stage, or newly formed product or platform teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience aligning developers, security, and leadership around a shared roadmap.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence without authority.
  • Experience driving adoption of internal platforms or tools across large or distributed organizations.
