About the GIS Engineer Co-op Role at Federal Express Corporation

As a Federal Express Corporation Co-Op, you will immerse yourself in projects designed to provide valuable, real-world experience aligned with your field of study. This co-op rotation is the first of 2-3 anticipated rotations, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, with a target start date of May 18th.

Essential Functions

  • Present and deliver long-term solutions that will significantly impact the business and/or customer experience.
  • Participate in various networking and/or community service events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled student or recent college graduate (within 6 months of graduation) with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related quantitative discipline.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
  • Time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills for a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate across business units and to all levels of management.
  • Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Geographic Information Science/Systems (GIS), Spatial Analytics, or related majors preferred.
  • Proficiency in/knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Python, ArcPy preferred.

Co-op Details & Compensation

This GIS Engineer Co-op position will extend from Summer through Fall (May 2026 to December 2026). The pay is $25/hour for undergraduates and $30/hour for graduates. A $2,000 stipend is available for those relocating over 50 miles for an on-site or hybrid experience.
