Role Overview
As a DOT-3 Courier Driver at Federal Express Corporation, you will be responsible for operating company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. You will check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service, perform related customer service functions, and undertake other assigned duties.
Schedule
This position operates Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Minimum Education
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED. Additionally, you must be properly licensed for the type of vehicle assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of maneuvering packages exceeding 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment or assistance.
- Demonstrate good human relations and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain a neat appearance, as customer contact is required.
- Must meet all qualifications outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Requires a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
