Job Overview
The Courier Swing Driver DOT at Federal Express Corporation operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages. The role checks shipments for conformance to FedEx service features and covers all assigned routes within the station's service area. Additional customer service functions and duties as assigned are also part of the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles and deliver/pickup packages
- Check shipments for adherence to FedEx service standards
- Cover all assigned routes in the service area
- Provide customer service and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least six (6) months courier experience. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and knowledge of the station’s service area are required. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and able to meet FMCSA or FAA medical exam requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavier packages with assistance
- Effective verbal communication and human relations skills
- Dependability, adaptability, and excellent courier methodology
- Thorough knowledge of local service area preferred
- Ability to understand traffic signs and communicate with safety officials
Job Conditions and Additional Details
Neat appearance and adherence to federal motor carrier safety regulations are required. The role may involve variable shifts Monday to Friday. Additional requirements include meeting the company policy for operating vehicles and working safely in a constantly alert environment.
