About the Role: IT Asset & Licensing Analyst at Fasken
Reporting to the Director, Security Operations, the IT Asset & Licensing Analyst will be instrumental in managing all hardware and software assets at Fasken. This hybrid role ensures efficient resource use, cost-effectiveness, and establishes a robust IT Asset Management (ITAM) process to reduce risks and optimize costs for the firm. Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, with occasional pre-authorized overtime as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
- Asset Management: Maintain accurate hardware/software inventory, track asset lifecycle (acquisition, deployment, maintenance, disposal), and ensure compliance with software licensing agreements to prevent over or under-licensing.
- Contract and Agreement Management: Oversee contract renewals, manage vendor relationships for maximum value, monitor performance for cost savings, provide reports on upcoming renewals, and ensure timely renewals and adherence to terms.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate favorable terms with vendors, build strong relationships, evaluate and select vendors based on service, quality, cost, and reliability, and coordinate with internal governance for risk management.
- Invoice & Cost Management: Ensure proper coding and timely payment of IT invoices, identify cost reduction strategies, implement FinOps best practices for cloud environments (budget, best practices, timelines, goals), monitor budget alignment for hardware/software expenditures, and report on asset performance, usage, and cost savings.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and enforce asset management policies, ensure compliance with legal/regulatory requirements, and train staff on best practices.
Required Knowledge And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in asset management, preferably within a law firm or corporate environment.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in asset management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
