Job Summary
Farmers Insurance is seeking a Technology Auditor to support high‑quality technology audits as part of our transformation to a modern, risk‑focused Internal Audit function. This role is hands‑on and execution‑focused, with primary responsibility for technology control testing, evidence evaluation, and audit documentation across IT and cyber risk areas.
What You’ll Do
- Execute detailed technology control testing (e.g., application controls, cybersecurity, data, emerging technologies) with minimal oversight.
- Support audit planning and scoping activities, including identifying key technology risks, mapping to ITGC and application control domains, defining audit objectives, scope, and required evidence.
- Manage audit activities end‑to‑end for assigned areas by coordinating with internal audit team members and IT stakeholders to track requests, testing progress, and issue resolution.
- Collect, evaluate, and document technical evidence (screenshots, logs, reports, exports) and clearly link evidence to conclusions.
- Participate in IT walkthroughs, document processes and control points, and ask effective “why/how” questions to identify risk.
- Prepare clear, well‑supported workpapers in accordance with Internal Audit standards.
- Support development of draft issues by documenting criteria, condition, cause, and effect, and validating facts with IT stakeholders.
- Communicate findings, exceptions, and unusual observations promptly to the audit team.
- Assist with post‑audit follow‑up to verify remediation actions are implemented as designed.
- Collaborate closely with audit team members and IT stakeholders while adhering to methodology and evidence standards.

Essential Job Functions
- Leads audit engagements with minimal supervision - on time and in a quality manner.
- Preparation of reports and communication with the business.
- Administrative duties supporting departmental activities, individual development plan, training, performance management, and general administration.
- Participates in departmental special projects.
Physical Actions
This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), CISA, or other comparable designation preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Five or more years experience in Auditing at an external firm or financial services firm, or seven years experience with Farmers Insurance and/or one year as a Farmers Insurance Auditor.
- Detailed subject matter expertise of at least one area of the business or industry.
