Job Description

The Quality Control Assistant is responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Central Kitchen facility. In this role, you will help ensure quality service to employees, customers, and suppliers by adhering to the Farm Boy Way.

• Maintain department goals and activities.
• Complete and verify hot cooking and cooling tracking logs.
• Rearrange product to meet cooling requirements.
• Use data tracking probes to record temperatures.
• Adhere to company policies, cleaning procedures, and food safety regulations.
• Follow Health & Safety practices, ensuring work safety and efficiency.
• Carefully maintain and support equipment.
• Support production teams as needed.
• Undertake additional duties as requested.

Qualifications

Typically requires a post-secondary education plus 1 year of experience in a Food Production/Commissary environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills along with strong quality, customer service, and food safety standards. A flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Work & Sensory Environment

• Multiple tight deadlines with limited control over pace.
• Work in a cool environment (4 to 6°C) for prolonged periods.
• Exposure to hazards including icy floors, spills, and equipment malfunctions.
• Physical tasks: lifting, carrying, long periods of standing, bending, and twisting.
