Senior Manager, Accounting - Revenue

As the Senior Manager – Revenue, you will be responsible for managing and improving the accounting processes related to revenue recognition, licensing agreements, and royalties. You will ensure the integrity of reported revenues across multiple sales channels and work closely with internal teams to maintain compliance with licensing terms and accounting standards.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Lead Royalty & Revenue Share Accounting: Own end-to-end accounting for licensing, royalty, and revenue share agreements across D2C, wholesale, and in-venue channels.
- Oversee calculation, accrual, reporting, and settlement of royalty obligations and partner revenue shares.
- Interpret complex commercial agreements including rates, minimum guarantees, incentives, and channel-specific terms.
- Ensure accurate application of revenue definitions, exclusions, and contract-specific economics.
- Drive Financial Accuracy & Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting guidance and company policies.
- Lead month-end close activities related to royalties and revenue share, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment and support SOX compliance.
- Partner with internal and external auditors on royalty and licensing matters.
- Business Partnership & Strategic Influence: Partner with Legal and Business Development to evaluate new licensing and revenue share agreements.
- Provide accounting guidance during deal negotiations to mitigate financial and operational risk.
- Collaborate with FP&A to analyze royalty trends and explain business drivers.
- Support leadership with insights into licensing economics and profitability.
- Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Establish performance metrics aligned to accuracy, timeliness, and process excellence.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including royalty, licensing, or revenue share accounting.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Experience in eCommerce, retail, digital media, licensing, or other high-volume transactional environments.
- Proven people leadership experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contracts.
- Experience with ERP systems (D365, Oracle, NetSuite or similar).
- CPA preferred.
