Role Overview: Assistant Buyer at Fanatics

As an Assistant Buyer at Fanatics Commerce, you will be a foundational member of the Merchandising team, crucial for ensuring operational excellence and providing key support to deliver for our fans. This role directly supports a Buyer or Associate Buyer, managing day-to-day merchandising tasks, vendor communications, and cross-functional coordination. It's an excellent opportunity to build essential skills and gain experience to progress into an Associate Buyer role.

How You Will Make An Impact

Merchandise Operations & Execution

• Accurately set up new items, SKUs, and product attributes within merchandising systems.
• Track samples, organize product information, and support photo shoots and marketing needs.
• Assist in managing purchase orders, delivery timelines, and product flow effectively.

Vendor & Partner Engagement

• Regularly communicate with vendors to ensure product information, samples, and orders are accurate and timely.
• Prepare comprehensive materials for vendor meetings and line reviews.
• Support cross-functional partners across Planning, Product Development, Marketing, and Site Experience teams.

Business & Performance Support

• Pull and analyze weekly sales, inventory, and margin reports to identify key risks and opportunities.
• Track promotional and markdown execution to optimize strategies.
• Share competitive insights and fan feedback with the team to strengthen category strategy.

Team Collaboration

• Provide critical operational support to Associate Buyers and Buyers.
• Actively contribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and curiosity.
• Embody Fanatics’ BOLD Leadership Principles in all daily interactions and tasks.

What You Bring To The Team

• 0–2 years of experience in merchandising, retail, eCommerce, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills, a high degree of accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel functionality and a keen eagerness to learn merchandising systems and financial metrics.
• Genuine curiosity about products, sports fans, and broader sports culture.
• A team-first mindset and a clear desire to grow into a merchandising leadership role.

Where You'll Work And What's Required

This is a hybrid work environment, offering flexibility with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote work. You will thrive in a fast-paced team environment, gaining exposure to multiple aspects of the Fanatics Commerce business. Travel to vendor meetings, market appointments, and industry events may be required as needed.
