About the role
AI Intern
The Role
Are you someone who knows how to build AI bots and dreams about automating the world? Fanatics wants you.
We’re looking for an AI Intern ready to jump in 20+ hours a week, help us strategize, and most importantly, execute. Got ideas about how AI can make life easier or better? Perfect. You won’t just pitch ideas—you’ll work alongside business leaders to create new AI processes, and test whether bots can automate tasks that currently eat up time.
If you’re technical enough to build bots and visionary enough to spot opportunities, this is your chance to shine.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with key business stakeholders to build AI bots and experiment with innovative automation ideas, leveraging ChatGPT and custom GPTs while also exploring other AI/ML tools.
- Help shape AI strategy alongside a smart, fast-moving team.
- Put your ideas into action — define problems, design solutions, and create applications that prove the concept.
- Ask the tough questions: Can AI automate this task? What’s the right process? How do we make it work?
- Spend about 20 hours a week learning, building, and delivering real projects that move the needle.
- Be willing (and encouraged) to come up with your own AI ideas — this internship is as much about your creativity as your coding chops.
What We're Looking For
- Intermediate experience building AI bots or working with AI/ML tools, including experience creating custom GPTs to solve domain-specific problems.
- Ability to think strategically AND roll up your sleeves to execute.
- Passion for building new processes and automating boring stuff.
- Strong communication skills — because explaining your AI magic is just as important as writing it.
- Curiosity and a “get it done” attitude.
- Bonus points if you’re a fan of sports, collectibles, or fandom culture (because we’re a little obsessed).
- Candidate must be based in NYC and able to work minimum 20 hours/week in our West Village office.
Why You’ll Love It Here
- Real responsibility on real projects — no busywork here.
- Work alongside folks who love sports, tech, and collecting as much as you do.
- Mentorship from experienced professionals who want to see you succeed.
- Competitive pay and maybe some sweet Fanatics swag.
Final Word
If you’re ready to build bots, drive strategy, and make AI magic happen in the world of sports and collectibles — let’s talk. This internship is where your ideas get wings.
The hourly range for this position is $25 to $30, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.
