About the Database Engineering Intern Role at Fabletics
Fabletics is looking for a forward-thinking, passionate Database Engineering Intern to play a vital role in our Enterprise data services team for Summer 2026. This position offers the chance to work on Transactional SQL server data in a 24/7 throughput environment, assisting in the development of data workflow applications. You will collaborate closely with the Enterprise Data Services team to support prototyping a cloud product feed project, enhancing our current ElasticSearch document DB product refreshes in partnership with application development teams.
At Fabletics, you will regularly use SQL and ElasticSearch, with the flexibility to utilize other tools as needed. We prioritize ongoing education and encourage exploration of new technologies and modeling methods.
What You Will Do
- Develop queries, views, triggers, and other database objects to support internally hosted applications.
- Develop and implement stored procedures and functions using TSQL.
- Support developing product feed to cloud databases (like ElasticSearch) that can be consumed by API and applications.
- Assist in the development of database integration workflows.
- Collaborate with other database personnel across our organization to share best practices, learn new techniques, and champion an organizational culture where data is central to decision-making.

Beyond academic knowledge, you likely have gained significant experience through personal projects. Minimum Qualifications
- Comfortable working with SQL and T-SQL programing.
- Academic experience with JSON data structures.
- Comfortable working with ElasticSearch, Kafka, Flink.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to a non-technical audience.
Nice to Have Skills (We'll Teach You)
- Knowledge of AWS database offerings.
The Fabletics Internship Experience
Our full-time paid internship program provides enthusiastic students with in-depth knowledge of our fast-paced and innovative company. Interns gain real work experience, participate in skill-building workshops, and engage in interactive social activities. The summer internship will run for 9 weeks from June 15th, 2026, through August 14th, 2026, at our El Segundo, CA headquarters. We operate on a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence Tuesday-Thursday, with optional remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Remote or non-local applicants are not being considered at this time.
Eligibility: You must be a rising junior or rising senior (graduating in 2027 or 2028) undergraduate student enrolled at an accredited university to be considered for this internship.
