The Role: Data-Streaming & Automation Engineering Intern
As a Data-Streaming & Automation Engineering Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting Fabletics' real-time data platforms during your summer internship. This position is perfect for students passionate about backend systems, data pipelines, automation, and leveraging modern AI-assisted workflows. You will gain hands-on experience working alongside seasoned engineers on live production systems, utilizing cutting-edge technologies like Apache Kafka, managed cloud services, stream processing frameworks, and selective AI/LLM-based tools.
What You Will Do
- Assist with support and troubleshooting of Kafka-based data pipelines.
- Learn how managed Kafka platforms are administered, including topics, permissions, and environments.
- Utilize AI to aid in building and modifying stream-processing logic and data workflows.
- Explore and apply AI/LLM tools for data transformation and automation as appropriate.
- Contribute to documentation, enhancing operational clarity and understanding.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers using standard version control and task-tracking workflows.
What You Can Bring
- Currently a rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with at least one programming language such as Go, Java, or similar.
- A strong curiosity for AI-assisted development and modern engineering workflows.
- Keen interest in real-time data management and/or automation processes.
The Intern Experience at Fabletics

Our full-time paid internship program offers an invaluable opportunity to immerse yourself in our fast-paced, innovative company culture. Interns gain real-world experience, participate in skill-building workshops, and engage in interactive social activities throughout the 9-week assignment.
Location & Schedule
This summer internship program will be based at our El Segundo, CA headquarters, running from June 15th, 2026, through August 14th, 2026. We operate on a hybrid work schedule, requiring employees to work in-office Tuesday through Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Remote or non-local applicants are not being considered for this specific role at this time.
