The Opportunity: Senior HR Transactions Consultant
We have an opportunity for a Senior HR Transactions Consultant to participate in global HR Mergers and Acquisitions, Divestitures, and Spins. This role involves HR operational, organizational alignment, and employee experience support from early due diligence analysis through to project planning, execution, and Day 1 go-live. Your work will include producing HR due diligence reports (both buy-side and sell-side), developing integration and separation plans, managing and executing project management across HR workstreams, helping define future-state employee governance and structures, and enabling employee communications and experience throughout these transactions.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work on multiple M&A projects, delivering quality client service, and providing flexible, innovative HR solutions while balancing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, integrate into and lead new teams, and rapidly establish client relationships.
- Contribute to generating profitable revenue by identifying follow-on engagement opportunities and developing lasting client relationships.
- Apply relevant technical skills in understanding M&A transactions, with emphasis on HR operations design and delivery, data analytics, and global/local HR and workforce impacts of buying or selling a business.

To thrive in this role, you'll need a blend of technical and business skills, including organization and workforce analysis, HR strategy, digital fluency, and complex problem-solving. Your ability to build relationships and communicate with impact will be crucial. You'll also need to demonstrate:
- Experience with HR aspects of mergers/acquisitions.
- Due Diligence and M&A experience through the full life cycle of an acquisition, divestiture, or spin.
- Contribution to client satisfaction by providing timely and effective responses to client needs and concerns.
- A practical approach to solving issues and gaining client agreement.
- Contribution to business development and client pursuit activities by preparing proposals and delivering presentations for potential clients.
- Incorporating and being open to learning new applications of evolving technology into daily workflow, including tools such as Microsoft Co-Pilot, agentic AI, and LLM modules to support data analysis, deliverable development, and challenge traditional approaches.
To Qualify For The Role, You Must Have
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field of business, human resources, or psychology.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience through one of the following: Professional services role with a global management consultancy firm or niche consultancy, internal human resources role in industry, or related line role in industry, in which you gained exposure to large-scale project(s).
- Expertise in automation opportunity assessment and prioritization.
- Strategic thinking with a digital strategy focus.
- Awareness of HR compliance and regulation.
- Willingness to travel as needed, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment with an average of three (3) days per week at a client site or within an EY office.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
- Experience in process optimization and HR technology implementation.
- Experience leading and delivering HR Transformation engagements, including strategy, process evaluation, process improvement and risk mediation, design of HR system delivery options and/or HR IT strategy.
- Experience in one or more areas of: reward, benefits, compensation, or talent.
- A proactive approach to sustainability and hybrid collaboration.
- Learning agility and the ability to drive outcomes.
- HR Certification.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $100,600 to $165,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $120,800 to $188,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
